Algonquin Spinners and Weavers, Petersburs,Ohio

School House
I joined a Spinning and Weaving Guild this past weekend.
I'm I a spinner or weaver? No.
Do I raise my own wool, AKA sheep?
No.
Can I knit faster than the speed of light?
No.
However, they let me join anyway. Maybe my friend, who grows her own wool, and spins, weaves and knits, thinks I will someday buy my own wheel.
I don't think so. I'm trying to spin a little with a drop spindle, and that is not going well.
Farm Kitty
The Guild meetings are held in an old school house, on a farm, with log cabins.
The Spinners let the farm cats come and go as they please in the old school house, until the kitties start messing with the fiber.
You don't want to mess with a spinner's fiber.
It was rather nice, sitting in the circle of spinners, listening to the whirl of the wheels, and the click of the treadles.
Everyone brings what ever small project they are working on.
I was not totally useless, I brought my granny square afghan to work on.

Petersburg, Ohio
This particular weekend, they were holding a sale of items, from a past members estate.
The money they raise, will go back to the family to help with final burial expenses.
How nice was that? They are like a great big family.
